When it comes to 2026 blockbusters, we've already seen som strong hitters, from new superhero adventures in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and the return of your favourite characters in Toy Story 5 but there's still plenty more to come. SUMMER 2026

The Odyssey (17th July)
Homer’s legendary tale is finally coming to cinemas this summer. This ambitious adaptation follows Odysseus on a perilous journey home after the Trojan War, facing mythical creatures, powerful gods and impossible trials along the way. This vast, cinematic tale is directed by Christopher Nolan and features a star-studded cast like no other. This story is not one to be missed.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (31st July)
A fresh chapter for everyone’s favourite neighbourhood Spider-Man. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker as he steps into a new era, balancing life, loss and responsibility while fighting an all-new danger.

Coyote vs. ACME (21st August)
Wile E. Coyote is finally taking ACME to court! After years of failed gadgets and disastrous schemes in his never-ending pursuit of the Road Runner, the unlucky coyote decides enough is enough and hires a lawyer to take on the company behind it all.

AUTUMN 2026

Practical Magic 2 (11th September)
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reunite as the Owens sisters in this long-awaited magical sequel, packed with spells, sisterhood and supernatural secrets.

Sense & Sensibility (25th September)
Daisy Edgar-Jones leads this fresh adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved romantic classic, following the Dashwood sisters through love, heartbreak and societal expectations.

Verity (2nd October)
Anne Hathaway stars in this gripping thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, as a writer uncovers disturbing secrets while completing another author’s unfinished books.

The Social Reckoning (9th October)
Aaron Sorkin returns with a gripping companion to The Social Network, exploring Facebook’s controversial internal practices through whistleblower Frances Haugen’s revelations.

Street Fighter (16th October)
The legendary video game franchise punches onto the big screen as iconic fighters face off in an action-packed battle for ultimate glory.

Whalefall (16th October)
Austin Abrams stars in this tense survival thriller about a diver swallowed by a sperm whale, with a desperate race to escape before time runs out.

Clayface (23rd October)
DC’s terrifying shapeshifting villain gets his own dark origin story in this body-horror thriller, bringing a chilling new chapter to the DC Universe.

WINTER 2026

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (20th November)
Return to Panem in this gripping prequel set during the brutal 50th Hunger Games. Set 24 years before the start of the first book in the series, Sunrise on the Reaping recounts Haymitch’s story during the events of the Second Quarter Quell.

Avengers: Doomsday (18th December)
Expect a superhero team-up of epic proportions, and all just in time for a Christmas cinema treat too. The Marvel universe builds up to another monumental showdown, as your favourite superheroes unite once again to face an unprecedented threat.

Dune: Part Three (18th December)
Also landing in Castleford cinemas over the holiday season is the third and final film in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy. Starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh and more, this film continues the sweeping sci-fi saga, following Paul Atreides as his journey unfolds across a vast desert world of power, prophecy and destiny.

NEW FILMS COMING IN 2027

Sonic the Hedgehog 4
Sonic is racing back onto the big screen for another action-packed adventure. Following the success of the first three films, the speedy blue hedgehog returns for a fourth instalment, promising more familiar faces, high-speed action and plenty of fun for Sonic fans old and new.

The Legend of Zelda
One of gaming’s most iconic adventures is making the leap to the big screen. The first live-action Legend of Zelda film will bring the magical kingdom of Hyrule to life, following Link and Princess Zelda on an epic fantasy adventure. Directed by Wes Ball, the film stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda.

Star Wars: Starfighter
A brand-new Star Wars adventure is heading to cinemas, with Ryan Gosling leading an all-new cast of characters. Set several years after The Rise of Skywalker, this standalone story follows a mysterious rogue who is thrown into a dangerous journey across the galaxy. Directed by Shawn Levy, expect plenty of action, spectacle and that unmistakable Star Wars magic.
